Sergeant James Brooks is the chaplain for the Roman Forest Police Department. James is an18 year veteran of the Houston Police Department were he has served in the Patrol, Burglary and Theft, Special Crimes Unit of the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and Training Divisions. He is currently assigned to the Houston Police Academy as the Sergeant over the Defensive Tactics Unit. James and his family have lived in Roman Forest for 15 years. 

Sergeant Brooks holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biblical Studies from Houston’s College of Biblical Studies. He also earned Master of Arts in Religion and Master of Divinity (Chaplaincy) degrees from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary and will soon be pursuing his Ph.D in Theology. 

Sergeant Brooks has a heart for Christ and people. He is a licensed Southern Baptist minister who has served as an associate pastor of Grace Bible Church in Houston and currently serves as a Bible study teacher at Second Baptist Church in Kingwood. His style of communication is warm and friendly. “I look forward to ministering to all of the officers in the Roman Forest Police Department and helping out whenever and wherever I can.”
